About the Event

“Don't ask where the rest of this book is!" It is a shrill cry that comes from an undefined spot among the shelves. "All books continue in the beyond...”

~ Italo Calvino, If on a Winter's Night a Traveller (1979)

“SOLOS: II: in-completion” celebrates hope, what might have been, nostalgia, and the bumps along the way through film and music. The project will take the form of fragments of thoughts and memories presented cinematically in varied film styles and will loosely track my journey from childhood on a path with no perceived end.

The works presented in this concert are particularly close to my heart. ‘Trodden Slopes’ follows my musical journey more literally featuring themes from pieces I learned and loved and Pham’s work, ‘On a Dreary Night of November’ is the first piece commissioned for me.  Inspired by Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’, it explores an awakening dramatically from two perspectives. I can’t wait to take you with me on this journey from past to present and into the unknown."
